In the latest information there are about 1300 places of sake breweries in Japan. The Japanese sake brewery is decreasing year by year.
In Hokkaido,there are currently 16 sake breweries . In Sapporo,there is only one sake brewery.

First of all,please remember that there are 4 types of sake as below！
I prepared the special offer comparison sets of typical 4 types of sake to study the basic knowledge of sake. I hope to start drinking from one of these sets first if possible.

■爽酒：Refreshing sake KItanokatsu Taikai 北の勝 大海 Usuikatsusaburoshoten in Nemuro city ＠The sake brewery located in the easternest position in Japan.
■醇酒：Rich sake KImoto junmai 二世古 生酛純米 Nisekoshuzo in Kutchan town @It is the sake of the most popular sake brewery in Hokkaido now. It is made of sake making KImoto method before Meiji era
■熟酒：Aged sake Darumamasamune 3year 達磨政宗三年熟成 Shirakikosukeshoten in Gifu Prefecture
@This sake is the only exception, not made in Hokkaido.Shirakikosukeshoten is the only one brewery where only aged sake is made in Japan.

■薫酒：Aromatic sake Kitanokatsu Daiginjo 北の勝 大吟醸 Usuikatsusaburoshoten in Nemuro city
＠The sake brewery located in the easternest position in Japan. This sake is a super rarity and highest rank Daiginjo who can hardly get it.
■爽酒：Refreshing sake Kunimare Kasen 国稀 佳撰 Kunimareshuzo in Mashike town ＠The sake brewery located in the nothernmost position in Japan.
■醇酒：Rich sake Kimoto junmai 生酛純米 kunimaresyuz.Mashike town
@It is the second oldest Japanese sake brewery in Hokkaido.This sake brewery located about one hour from Sapporo by car.
■熟酒：Aged sake Darumamasamune 3year 達磨政宗三年熟成 Shirakikosukeshoten in Gifu Prefecture

@It is the highest ranked sake in Hokkaido and the most expensive sake. This is the only Japanese sake that is drunk when Japanese emperor and emperor ‘s family and relatives came to Hokkaido.This brewery in Sapporo city is the oldest in Hokkaido.
■爽酒：Refreshing sake Ryoushinochikaramizu 漁師の力水 Kunimareshuzo in Mashike town
＠The sake brewery located in the nothernmost position in Japan.It is a rarity limited high-grade sake that is packed in a bottle after storing it for about 2 months while being shaken by a wave in a ship.
■醇酒：Rich sake Kamikawa Special Junmai 上川大雪酒造特別純米 Kamikawataisetsushuzo in Kamikawa town
■熟酒：Aged sake
Darumamasamune 3year 達磨政宗三年熟成 Shirakikosukeshoten in Gifu Prefecture @This sake is the only exception, not made in Hokkaido.Shirakikosukeshoten is the only one brewery where only aged sake is made in Japan.
